Machining

P.I. Castings Ltd have established an on-site machine shop to meet the growing demands for fully finished castings, ready for assembly, including alochroming, threaded inserts and painting.

The machining department is equipped with CNC machining centres, CNC turning and conventional milling, drilling and turning equipment. Kits of parts can be supplied with castings typically being packed into customers’ own preferred and re-useable kit boxes on an agreed scheduling basis.

As no single machine shop can provide every type of machining and finishing to cover the wide range of applications and materials supplied by P.I. Castings Ltd, a range of specialist sub-contractors has been established over the years to support the demands of P.I. Castings’ customers.

The 3D printer installed at P.I. Castings works on a similar principle to an inkjet printer, but sprays wax instead of ink, building up a model, layer by layer. As this model is the same as a wax pattern, it can be used in our standard lost-wax process.
