QUALITY PROCEDURES
The P.I. Castings’ Quality Manual provides a picture of the overall quality ethic of the Company, whilst the related Procedures cover manufacturing and process controls.
Statistical Process Control systems (SPC) are applied to the manufacturing process and also, where appropriate, on defined component parameters.
Systematic reviews and audits are undertaken in each department to ensure compliance with Quality Assurance Procedures. Sub-contractors have to be approved before they can undertake work for P.I. Castings and are then routinely monitored to ensure continuing compliance.

Tensile testing
The 3D printer installed at P.I. Castings works on a similar principle to an inkjet printer, but sprays wax instead of ink, building up a model, layer by layer. As this model is the same as a wax pattern, it can be used in our standard lost-wax process.
